Managing the Final URL Suffix in Marin Search

Introduction

When using redirects with Google Ads, the Final URL Suffix field allows you to enter parameters to be appended to the end of your landing page URL, so you can track information about where people go after they click your ad. At this time, you can use the Final URL Suffix field at the the account or campaign level.

Important note: You will not be able to adjust your settings if you are using Marin's SmartGrid. Additionally, if you use MarinOne, please note that if you've set a value for Final URL Suffix in the MarinOne URL Builder, this value will override anything you set via the methods below.

Note: Please contact your Marin account representative prior to making changes to your tracking setup in order to understand the implications of your anticipated changes.

Syncing existing Final URL Suffix settings

If you've already populated the Final URL Suffix field for the objects in your account, either via the Google Ads interface or the MarinOne URL Builder, you can sync these settings to show the values in the Marin Search grid at either the account or campaign level.

To do so, follow these steps:

  1. First, perform a manual sync

  2. Navigate to either the main Channels or Campaigns tab.

  3. Open the View Builder, then add the Final URL Suffix column to the grid.

  4. Save your new view and you should see the existing Final URL Suffix setting showing in the grid.

Editing the Final URL Suffix field at the account level

You can edit the Final URL Suffix outside of the URL Builder in Marin Search using the platform's multi-edit feature.

To do so, just follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the main Channels tab.

  2. Use the checkboxes to select the relevant account(s) for which you'd like to update the final URL suffix value.

  3. Click the Edit button ('pencil' icon).

  4. From the drop-down box, select Final URL Suffix, then enter your chosen value in the text box.

  5. Click Save and the platform will cue this change for processing. Once completed, your Final URL Suffix will now be applied to all objects within the chosen account.

Editing the Final URL Suffix field at the campaign level

In order to update the Final URL Suffix field for a specific campaign, you'll need to use the platform's bulk upload tool. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. First, navigate to the main Campaigns tab.

  2. In the lower-left corner, click Bulk add/edit campaigns.

  3. Click into the From which publisher/account drop-down box and select the Google account which houses the campaign for which you'd like to update the final URL suffix value.

  4. In the bulk upload text box, delete everything except Campaign and [Final URL Suffix]

  5. On the next row, enter the name of the relevant campaign and the value for your final URL suffix, ensuring you use the tab key between these values. You can add as many additional rows as you'd like to edit more campaigns.

  6. Keep the remaining settings at default, and once you're done editing your bulk upload, click Process. The platform will take care of your changes in the background.

  7. Refresh the grid, then use the View Builder to check that the Final URL Suffix field has been populated as expected. And that's it -- you're all done.

Important notes

  • If you'd like to manage the Final URL Suffix field using the URL Builder, you'll need to use MarinOne. Please speak with your platform representative for more information about trying MarinOne today.
