Pausing a Large Number of Keywords Across Different Channels

There may be occasions when you have a large number of keywords in your account spread over multiple channels that you'd like to pause all at once.

With the Platform's bulk upload functionality, doing this is simple -- and this article will show you how. 

Step-by-step guide

Follow these simple steps to pause a large number of keywords at once using a bulk upload:

  1. The first thing to do is navigate to the Keywords tab and use the filters to create a view that contains the keywords you'd like to pause. The less data you can include, the faster the process will be. 
  2. Next, create a report the standard required columns: Account, Campaign, Group, Keyword, Match Type, Status. You can use the Platform's View Builder to add these columns to the grid (if not already present) and then run a report using the Create Report button. 
  3. Open your report in Microsoft Excel, then identify the keywords you'd like pause. If other data is mixed in with these keywords, you can use a v-lookup to do this. 
  4. The final step is to upload your bulksheet to the Platform as usual with a value of Paused in the Status column for each keyword you'd like to pause. 
  5. You're done! Once the bulksheet has been processed, all of the keywords should be paused.
