Revenue Assist Updates with Tracker V4 [Marin Search]

We updated Tracker V4 Revenue Assist logic to remove the “lock” feature, which historically prevented users from applying variable settings across their different folders. However, Marin still recommends that customers keep consistent revenue models across all folders, as setting varying revenue models for different folders will prevent biddable objects from conveying the same conversion value.

As a result of this change, all Tracker V4 customers will see a different Attribution Settings screen:

Remind me -- what is Revenue Assist?

Revenue Assist is the attribution tool powered by Marin Tracker. An attribution model is the rule, or set of rules, that determines how credit for sales and conversions is assigned to touchpoints in conversion paths.

With Revenue Assist, users can customize how much value to attribute to clicks that lead to conversions. This setting can be accessed via the Admin > Revenue > Attribution Settings page. The default attribution is Last Click, but the weighting model can be adjusted to be Exponential or U-Shaped.

  • The conversion value to be distributed across the multiple touch points in the conversion path is determined by the folder settings of the last-click keyword. It’s important for customers to be aware of this when reviewing their folder strategy.
  • Marin’s default reporting will remain last click, and the assist values will be generated in the Assist reporting fields only.
  • This is currently behind a beta flag “Tracker revenue assist re-calculation in S1
