Discrepancy Between Google Creative-Level Data and Keyword- or Campaign-Level Data

What is the issue?

You may notice that when you compare Google data (for example, the total amount of clicks) in the main Creatives tab to the data displayed in the main Keywords and Campaigns tab, there is a discrepancy and the data does not match. For example, you may notice that there are more clicks displayed in the Campaigns tab than there are in the Creatives tab.

What causes the issue?

The issue is due to the way in which the Platform pulls in click data from Google Ads.

At the campaign level, the Platform pulls the clicks and attributes them to the respective campaign ID. For creatives, however, the Platform pulls in click data for all creatives that exist in the Platform (even those that are paused). This means that if you delete a creative from Google Ads, the Platform will not pull in data for these creatives, leading to a discrepancy.

How to fix the issue

You can solve the problem by either waiting for a nightly sync or carrying out a manual (hard) sync. This will ensure all creatives and their statuses are up-to-date.

You can learn more about manual syncs from our Help article.
