Twitter Bid Types: Target, Automatic, Cost Per Install

Introduction

Along with the existing Twitter bid types, the Marin Social platform now offers support for the following Twitter bid types:

  • Target Bidding: Using target bidding, you can specify a target cost you want to pay and the Twitter Ads platform will optimize your campaign for performance while staying within 20% of your target on a daily basis.
  • Automatic Bidding: Your bid will be optimized to get the best results at the lowest price (within your budget.) You will pay the optimized price for each engagement delivered.
  • Cost Per Install Bidding (Beta): Users can now direct the platform to optimize for an action such as app clicks or installs and also specify how to pay.

Target Bidding

Target bidding per link click, per follow, and per install is now available via the API. Specify a target cost you want to pay and the Marin Social platform will optimize your campaign for performance while staying near or below your target cost.

This feature gives you the flexibility to reach users who are especially likely to take the desired action (such as a link click or a follow) while maintaining cost control. This is a powerful feature for advertisers who desire more options for campaign setup and optimization (including bidding options).

The following objectives support target bidding:

  • FOLLOWERS
  • WEBSITE_CLICKS
  • WEBSITE_CONVERSIONS
  • APP_ENGAGEMENTS
  • APP_INSTALLS

Automatic Bidding

Automatic bidding will optimize your bids to get the best results at the lowest price within your budget. You will pay the optimized price for each engagement delivered.

The following objectives support automatic bidding:

  • APP_ENGAGEMENTS
  • APP_INSTALLS
  • FOLLOWERS
  • TWEET_ENGAGEMENTS
  • VIDEO_VIEWS
  • WEBSITE_CLICKS
  • WEBSITE_CONVERSIONS

Cost Per Install Bidding (Beta)

Users can now direct the platform to optimize for an action such as app clicks or installs and also specify how to pay. Note: This bid type is currently in beta. The following objective support cost per install bidding:

  • APP_INSTALLS

In the bulk creator, you can specify what to optimize on and how to pay for it:

  • Optimize for app clicks, pay for app clicks
  • Optimize for installs, pay for app clicks
  • Optimize for installs, pay for installs

Note: Because cost per install bidding is in beta, the customer who wants to use this feature must have their Twitter ad account whitelisted with the following feature: CHARGE_FOR_GOOD_CLICK
