“Account Could Not be Found for Selected Publisher” Error Message

What is the issue?

When uploading sitelink changes (edits) via the Platform’s bulk upload feature, you may come across the following error message:
 

Error: Account could not be found for selected publisher.


This error message will appear either in an Error file once the upload has been processed, or within the Activity Log ID (accessible by clicking the ID number within the log itself).

What causes the issue?

This error message occurs in two different scenarios:

  1. You attempt to edit a sitelink which does not already exist within the account you’re making changes to.
  2. You attempt to edit a sitelink which you have already deleted.

How to fix the issue

The solution to this problem is to remove any invalid sitelinks from your bulk sheet, then re-upload the sheet to the Platform. An invalid sitelink is one which either doesn’t exist or has been deleted.

Once you remove the problematic entries, your bulk upload should process without any errors.
