What Is The Issue?
When attempting to edit a keyword or creative, the operation may fail within the Activity Log. When you download the error file associated with this job, you may encounter the following error message:
This item cannot be modified until the parent is re-synced with the publisher.
What Causes The Issue?
This error occurs because the parent object (group or campaign) of the affected object is in the Needs Sync status. You will be unable to make changes to any object within a group or campaign that has this status.
How To Fix The Issue
In order to fix the problem and resolve the Needs Sync status, you will have to carry out a manual sync on the parent object. To do so, follow these steps:
- Determine which objects need to be synced by going to the main Groups tab and filtering for Operation Status being Needs Sync. If no groups appear, navigate to the main Campaigns tab and apply the same filter.
- Navigate to the main Channels tab and click on Manage Accounts.
- Select the campaign in the right tab and click the Sync button.
- If you only need to sync groups, click on the main Groups tab in the grid and click on the Sync button.
