Data Missing In Recurring Reports

You may notice there is data missing within a recurring report (conversions or publisher data) even though there is data present in the application.

What Causes The Issue?

There are two potential causes for this issue:

  1. This problem is most commonly caused by running your recurring report before that data has finished syncing in the application. That means if you kick off your recurring report too early, you would see that data missing in the report. If you're facing this issue, you can either schedule your report for later (how-to found below) or, if you need your report at a specific time, reach out to your Marin team for assistance.
  2. A recurring report that is scheduled to run automatically will be cut off at 100,000 rows. If your report exceeds 100,000 rows, the metrics in the report may be lower than what you see in the platform for the same date range.

How To Fix The Issue

To make sure your reports capture all data, you can set your recurring reports to run after the application has fully processed this data by following these steps:

  1. Click the Activity Log in the upper-right corner of Marin, then check when publisher data comes into the application.
  2. Click Reports module in left navigation.
  3. Select the Scheduled tab.
  4. Double click the report and in the pop-up window, select a time after the publisher data sync time found in step 1. Hit save to apply these changes.

If your report is cutting off at 100,000 rows, you can run the report manually by following these steps:

  1. Click the Reports link in the left navigation.
  2. Click into the Reports Templates sub-tab.
  3. Select the radio button to the left of the Report Template name you'd like to run.
  4. Click the Run the Report Now button.
  5. You will be able to access this report from the Completed Reports tab. If your report is set up to be emailed to you, this will also occur.

An alternative to the second process above is to apply filters to your report so that it is less than 100,000 rows; this will enable all of your rows to appear in the automatic report.
