Conversion Data is Lower than Expected

You may find that the number of conversions on a specific day is much lower than you would normally expect.

Provided that this is not due to fluctuations such as seasonality, there may have been a problem with attributing conversions within your revenue file. In this case you would see within the Activity that your most recent revenue upload either Failed or Partially Succeeded.

What Causes The Issue?

There are a number of reasons that you may see lower conversions than normal, as follows:

Unsupported Characters In Rows

Download the affected revenue file from the Activity and open it in a spreadsheet editor like Microsoft Excel. The affected rows will list an error with them. Scan these rows for any unsupported characters: for example, double spaces or double quotes. The platform will produce an error if these characters are found in any row.

How To Fix The Issue

Once you have identified the cause of your low conversion data, the next step is to negate the partially successful revenue data. To do this, follow the simple instructions found in the article How to Correct Uploaded Revenue.

After the previously uploaded revenue file has been negated, re-upload the revenue file by clicking the link on the left side of the Activity screen – ensuring that all previous errors have been corrected. Once the file has been processed, your conversion data should now appear accurately within the platform.
