Amazon Time-of-Day Reporting (via Amazon Marketing Stream)

Introduction

Marin introduces a new reporting capability in the Marin UI, leveraging Amazon Marketing Stream as a new data source for Amazon campaigns. This feature provides deeper insights into campaign performance by day of week and time of day, helping customers make informed bid and budget adjustments.

Understanding the Amazon Time-of-Day Report

The report helps customers:

  • Analyse performance trends by day of week and time of day.
  • Identify recommended bid boosts based on statistical insights.
  • Optimise budgets and bids to increase sales and reduce wasted spend.
  • Automate bid and budget adjustments for better ad performance.

Where to Find It

Navigate to Reports > External in the left navigation panel.

Key Features

Insights & Recommendations

  • Performance Breakdown: View sales, conversions, and click-based performance metrics by time segment and day-of-week.
  • Flexible Filters: Filter by date, Account, Strategy, Campaign, or Campaign Type 
  • Bid Boost Suggestions: Data-driven recommendations on when to increase bids to maximise ROI.
  • Statistical Treatment: Ensures insights are meaningful by filtering out noise and low-significance data.

Controls & Customisation

At the top of the report, users can refine their analysis using the following controls:

  • Date Range: Select a time period for analysis.
    • Defaults end date as yesterday
  • Filters:
    • Account Name
    • Strategy Name
    • Campaign Type
    • Publisher Campaign ID
  • Conversion Type (choose between conversions or sales).
    • Performance data is calculated per click.
  • Filter Insignificant Results:
    • Show/Hide: Hide low-significance data to focus on meaningful insights.
  • Display Type:
    • Relative (default): 0% is neutral, showing percentage-based performance changes.
    • Absolute Values: View raw performance numbers.
  • Hours Per Group/Segment:
    • Dynamically control how to group data by time of day
    • Set between 1-24 hours per row.
    • Smaller values provide more granular insights; larger values group data.
