“Row Was Updated Or Deleted By Another Transaction”

What Is The Issue?

When attempting to post changes to the publisher from the Activity Log, you may encounter the following error message:

Error: Row was updated or deleted by another transaction (or unsaved-value mapping was incorrect)
What causes the issue?

This error message will occur when two operations try to edit the same object at the same time. These two jobs "clashing" means that one is usually forced to fail, resulting in the error message above.

For example, if you had multiple bulk uploads processing at the same time and they contained any identical objects (campaigns, creatives, keywords, etc.), the issue may well occur. However, it will only happen if the two uploads attempt to make changes at the same time. In many cases, the uploads will process normally.

How To Fix The Issue

The platform automatically resubmits these jobs, normally within the hour after you see this error, so you don't need to take any action.

In the case of creative additions, if you resubmit the job, it will result in duplicating creatives. So it is best to allow the platform to resubmit automatically.

Additionally, we recommend that you refrain from posting too many jobs simultaneously. In this way, you can avoid this issue entirely.
