Recurring Reports Not Being Delivered via Email

What is the issue?

If you have set up recurring reports to be delivered to specific email addresses on a regular basis (daily, for example), you may find that, despite the report being set up correctly, it is not being delivered via email.

How to diagnose the issue

The first thing to double-check is that your email address is entered correctly within the specific Report Template (accessible via the Reports link in the upper right). The Email Report box must also be checked. Finally, check your spam filters to ensure that the report emails have not got caught there.

What causes the issue?

If none of the above apply, it's likely that your lack of email report delivery is being caused by the entire report, or the first sub-report in your report containing no data. When this is the case, the system does not properly generate emails for the recipients. This is a known issue. Note that even though email delivery does not work, the report is still run and available from the Completed Reports tab.

How to fix the issue

There are two ways that you can fix this problem, as follows:

  1. Update your report to ensure that the first sub-report contains data. You can change the order of sub-reports by hovering over one of them and clicking the up or down arrow as needed.
  2. Split your report into multiple smaller reports, rather than using one containing many sub-reports. This way, you will only receive an email when your reports meet certain criteria (so if there is no data to report, you will not receive an email).
