"Error posting item to publisher - Check activity log for details"

What is the error?

In the Channels, Campaigns, Groups, Keywords and Creatives tabs, you may see items displaying a Sync error. These objects will have a red triangle icon next to them.

Hovering over the alert will display the error message:

Error posting item to publisher - Check activity log for details

How to fix it

This error message indicates that your object is currently not synchronized with the publisher. This is usually due to a failed operation. You can find out more by clicking on the red triangle icon. This will take you to the Activity ID details, where you will find information regarding the cause of the synchronization error. Using the Activity ID, it's then easy to retrieve your file from the Activity Log, correct the lines that have failed, and resubmit the operation.

You may experience this issue while trying to edit deleted Groups or Campaigns. This will send the object into the Invalid status. This status will display the same error and can be safely ignored.

Pasting the error messages found in the activity details in the search bar of the Help section will usually help you troubleshoot your file and eliminate the issue behind the synchronization error.

If you would like more information on the functionalities of the Activity Log, please click here to read our Help article.
